The campaign began in September 2025 with Vitor Galvani returning to the organization, this time as Head Coach. His arrival represented more than a change on the bench; it marked the beginning of a new chapter for the franchise, built around a clear vision and a decisive goal: lead Capitanes to their first-ever NBA G League Playoffs appearance.

The early results seemed to confirm the outside narrative. A 6-8 record in the Tip-Off Tournament and a missed opportunity to reach the Winter Showcase playoffs appeared to reinforce the doubts. But inside the locker room, the story was different. This team wasn’t falling apart, it was taking shape.

When the regular season began, Capitanes changed the narrative in their favor. A nine-game winning streak not only redefined the team’s identity, but also took Capitanes to the top of the Western Conference for the first time in franchise history.

Galvani’s impact was immediate. In January, he was named NBA G League Head Coach of the Month after leading the team to a 9-3 record, cementing a system that has now translated into unprecedented results.

Today, Capitanes are not the same team that took the court in September. They have broken through their own ceiling, surpassing their previous franchise record for wins and setting a new standard with 24 victories in the regular season.
