Capitanes announce Nick Lagios as General Manager

Mexico City, May 6, 2021– Capitanes are proud to announce that Nick Lagios will be the team's General Manager our inaugural NBA G League season in 2021-22.
Nick has an established NBA G League background in different roles: he was worked as Video Coordinator (2016 2017), Basketball Operations Coordinator (2017-2018), and Basketball Operations Director (2018-2021 at the South Bay Lakers.
"A few years ago, when I heard there was going to be a G League team in Mexico City, I wanted the General Manager position and did everything I could do to prepare myself for this opportunity. To be named General Manager of Basketball Operations is a dream come true", said Nick in his first visit to Mexico City.
Lagios will work closely with Ramon Diaz and the coaching staff to help put together a competitive team and guide Capitanes in the transition and the challenge of being the first franchise from outside the U.S.A. and Canada.
"In the future, we plan to undergo efforts to include more Mexican and Latin American players in the NBA, all while promoting basketball within the region. This may take time - but we're ready to make it happen", said Nick.Capitanes announce Nick Lagios to General Manager
